I saw the ninjago city markets set at the lego store today!!@@;#^!:!!!!!!!!! It was SOOOOO cool BUT I FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE ARGHhHhhhh cyrus omg..... I was reading the ninjargon signs and one that stuck out to me was this missing poster that had a picture of a goat minifigure on it and I am most likely looking into this too much but the lego goat minifigure was first introduced into set 7189 mill village raid in uhhh 2011 but then the mould was destroyed after that set release and they were never in another set and they can't make any more!!!! They sell for like 300-400aud now it's crazy (bit of a flex but I actually got this set as a birthday gift when I was younger so I have the goat minifigures!! They sit on the bridge of my dojo temple set tehehe) but yeah that's cool if that was on purpose, if not, uhhh you all got cool lego fact you're welcome /silly. ALSO next time I go back I rlly want to get another lego keychain but a brick one this time (maybe the Jay minifigure one too? I do have that minifig but not as a keychain yet) specifically the sand green brick one bc it's the same brick pigment as Lloyd's dragon mech set from tlnm which holds a lot of personal significance for me AAAA I might even get it engraved with my name if I'm feeling like spending an extra 4 bucks LOL

Ok so omgkjsfdjkdshfdsjh so they are INCREDIBLY smart and socially intelligent to and hhhrhh oh my. They have the most gyrified (wrinkled and folded) brain and the most elaborated insular cortex in the world, these two things allow them to process information quicker and more skillfully as well as display long-term, complex emotions such as compassion for both other orcas and human individuals!!!!!!!H!HGHG!GH! Their entire lives are spent socialising with their pod members and other pods and they are also some of the most acoustically sophisticated animals on the planet. Like,,, they have so many different calls and whistles and shit that means so so much and we dont rlly know heaps about it yet but WOAH. also we suspect they have NAMES of sorts for each other !HGHGEHGDSszhgfchgvfdhgaslu ok so orca pods are centred around the matriarch, shes the grandma of the pod essentially. male orcas stay with their mothers their entire lives. so orca pods will be made up of the matriarch, her children, her grandchildren, and any other mates that join the pod. females live up to 80 or so years while males live up to 50 or so. Orcas also go through menopause around 40 which is rlly cool, bc then her focus will switch from reproducing to running and taking care of her pod. female orcas teach the young members of the pod valuable life skills from vocalisation (orcas, like humans, can only speak baby gibberish when they are born, they have to learn how to talk) to hunting skills! theres a pod in Argentina that is famous for their hunting tactic of essentially beaching themselves to catch sea lions. This is an extremely daunting, difficult, and dangerous technique and some orcas just give up on learning it for those reasons.

there are three differnt kinds of orcas, transient orcas (which live further away from the coast, arent as predictable, and their pods have way fewer members, usually as low as 2-5), resident orcas (which live closer to the coast in more defined ranges and are more predictable and researched, pod numbers about 20-50 but can briefly combine into superpods ). there are also like more specific types too, and offshore orcas which are kinda just neither. Transient orcas eat mammals mostly, while resident and offshore orcas mainly eat various fish n stuff. between all pods, the "language" is very different, like they have different dialects. and that varies even more between the three types. different pods also have different specific target foods. The types are differentiated by cultural differences rather than them being different species which is SOOO awesome. Orcas also go through trends of sorts like humans do, which spread between pod interactions. the three types also dont interbreed btw. transient orcas also tend to be completely silent when they hunt which is TERRIFYING bc they can still hunt extremely precisely and in a well coordinated manner. orcas have never posed a threat to humans tho, they are very curious about us tho. there was actually rhis one orca that got seperated from his pod and was lonely so he sought out interaction in humans on piers and even dogs :)) theres videos of him playing with a hose a guy let him borrow and also popping his head out of the water so the dog could sniff his head. pretty sure this is the same orca that was so friendly that he was often getting pats and stuff from the people on boats and would even let people put their hands in his mouth. OHH also back on the teaching bit, the matriarchs are incredibly patient and caring when they teach and i think thats very sweet :) orcas are extremely adaptable and come up with new ways of hunting their specific prey all the time, and then it carries on for ages. also one fun example of a trend that was around in the 80s was when some groups wore dead salmon on their heads like a hat :DD

FRRR my special interests r obviously marine biology and Lego ninjago so I love to work on bentho headcanons based of that hsjsjehsjwjs. I base him of a nurse shark and a silky shark mostly. But also with characteristics of cladoselache (a prehistoric "shark" ((actually a ratfish, which r closely related)) that only had scales around the edges of its fins, mouth and eyes) so he only has dermal denticles in the places they'd most benefit (eg. Outsides og arms and legs, sides of face and around nose bridge/forehead/cheeks kind area, and a fair bit on bits of his torso/back). But also note that nurse shark and silky shark skin is generally quite smooth compared to most sharks, so this is also to do with him not being complete fucking sandpaper. His teeth fall put often (he is used to this, the Ninja are fairly freaked by it at first 😭 he's freaked by human dental procedures tho so it's ok they're even then) (also morro has one of his teeth on a necklace). ALSO ELECTROSENSORY CAPABILITIES TOO OFC HEHE. Excellent eyesight and even better sense of smell and hearing, particularly underwater. Two gill sets on either side of his neck and three on each side of his body. No shark related but his hair is like.. completely waterproof, like he'll get out of the water and his hair is completely dry. Anyway that's the main lot of it.

Jay - like a rlly muddy green, left one with trauma related cataract bc of lightning and also skybound
Cole - really dark brown, one bright green after the rift
Kai - dark redish brown
Nya - same as kai but like a deep blue post seabound (they glow also now)
Lloyd - again similar to kai and nya but since like s8 or smth like that has an unnatural green tint/hue but they always glowed bright fucking green when he used his powers
Zane - grey but after s3 glowy blue
Pixal - bright green sclera, slightly darker green iris
Morro - naturally very dark browny green but after ressurection his left eye is the same bright green as Coles (also the same colour as ghost scars btw) but bc his scar goes over his eye and he was properly dead for a longer time his vision is pretty fucked in that eye and the iris is misshapen, no visible pupil in yhat eye either
Bentho - lightish blue, darker blue sclera

"Lloyd Garmadon" that is so goofy and close to Lord garmadon and does not seem like smth Garmadon would name his kid at all. It sounds like a name a little transgender 8yro who was abandoned by his dad (and his mum too but we'll talk about misako another time) and wants nothing but him to notice him would give himself
He was kicked out of Darkley's boarding school for bad boys for "not being bad enough" but hes the literal son of garmadon and the grandson of god and he did plenty of naughty stuff like he was as bad as any of the other students, so what if he was kicked out for not being boy enough
After the switch to wildbrain studios post the moving coming out and they gave Lloyd a slightly more mature voice, when he met up with the other ninja they all congratulated him on his voice deepening even tho he had already been a teenager for years (the tomorrows tea) like,,, post testosterone anyone??
Also the show came out in 2011 and was only being renewed one season at a time, so to have an explicitly lgbtq+ main character would have been too risky. Plus ninjago has (more recently as ur not gonna get straight out cancelled ((in most countries)) for having this) had pride flags appear multiple times and has a canon bisexual character (sally, love her)
also that fucking bowl cut is so first trans haircut done urslef

Ok ok so Nya and my oc are the same age (which is a year younger than Cole, Zane, Kai, and Jay, making my oc the only one of the original ninja who is younger) and after s2, Lloyd is a year younger than Nya and my oc. BUT before the tomorrow's tea incident (which, incase you didn't know whas when Lloyd had to make the choice between saving the ninja, sacrificing his childhood, or letting the ninja ||die||, keeping his childhood. He chose to save the other ninja ofc) Lloyd was 9 yro (its canon he was about 8-10). And seeing as Nya and my oc r 15 at the point of the tomorrows tea incident and the others r 16 (same ages as in the pilots) that means that the tea ages Lloyd up to be 14 (5 years).

Ok now my VERY rough guesses at when they age throughout seasons:

Pilots-rebooted (s3): Lloyd 9, Nya and oc 15, others 16

Tournament of elements (s4): Lloyd 15, Nya and oc 16, others 17

OK hold it for a second 🤨 Now, in possession (s5), they r all the same ages as I just listed for ToE, but I'm going to bring Morro into this bc my general Ninjago au, Morro is resurrected (I will talk more about this au and Morros role another time). Ok so at this point, Morro is a ghost who ran off, travelled for a bit and ||died|| over 40 years ago, so ofc he's been the same age that whole time. and that age is *drumroll* 17! so here, he is the same age as the RBBW ninja, a year older than Nya and my oc and 2 years (technically 7) older than Lloyd (his cousin. this is not canon but is a highly popular headcanon to the point that its treated like canon by many in the ninjago community. Bc of when Wu ((Lloyd's uncle)) took Morro in ((he was an orphan living on the streets poor fella)) when he was a kid and trained him AND THATS WHERE WE GET INTO MORROS TRAUMA BUT, THATS FOR ANOTHER TIME ARGH)

ANYWAY, after possession (s5) there is a fair bit of time until Skybound (s6). In this amount of time the ninja all age another year woo! Now this is a tricky season bc (spoilers:) ||it was all undone at the end and never actually happened. which some may argue is a lazy plot device, and usually id agree, but I think it rlly added to Nya and Jays dynamic and relationship AND AAA I CANT GET CARRIED AWAY WITH THAT THATS FOR ANOTHER TIME!!!!||. anyway:

Skybound: Lloyd 16 (technically 11), Nya nad oc 17, RBBW ninja 18

NOW after skybound is where my au comes into play 😈 bc skybound ||never rlly happened||, we r still technically in filler time between s5 and s7 (hands of time)! THIS is where details are missing in my au and I have to work on that..... BUT MORRO IS RESSURECTED YIPPEE!!! Im gonna have it so ||reversing the timeline|| messed up shit with the realms, like banishing Garmadon is s4 did and Morro escapes the same way he did initially!!! Dont know why or exactly how (I have some ideas tho) but shit happens and 🙀 🙀 HES MORTAL AGAIN!!I LOVE HIM SM YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. ANYWAY obvs hes the age he was for decades (17) AND HES THE SAME AGE AS MY OC AND NYA!! But pretty much this happens not too long after Hands of Time and this season is very much a my-oc season. gonna be very about his character and backstory and character development. This is also where he loses his leg WHICH AGAIN, I WILL TALK ABOUT ANOTHER TIME AAA. ok so we dont have very many canon time frames for the seasons but it is canon that there is a year between Hands of time and Sons of Garmadon and to that I say SCREW YOU. This is MY AU and it is canon to ME. tehe anyway, there is 2-4 years imbetween Hands of time and Sons of garmadon instead bc MY BOY NEEDS TO HEAL MAN :((( also yeah just bc🤭 . ANYWAY SO NOW WE HAVE:

Dragons Rising (new show but is a continuation): The merge happened not toooo long after Crystalised, maybe a year or so, idk I might change my mind after reading Quest for the lost powers which takes place between s16 and Dragons rising. and then dragons rising is multiple years after the merge, maybe like 5? sooo: Lloyd 29 (technically 24), Nya, Morro, and my oc 30, RBBW ninja 31, Benthomaar 31/32?

Slight ninjago spoilers (Legacy of the Green Ninja, Possession) But here's me trying to get a good idea of the ninjas ages throughout the series. It's confirmed they were about 15 or 16 in the pilots and that morro was uh it was 17 or smth to 20 years of age when he died so out of that I just picked what I think fits best. And then I sort of guessed with how much time each season was across so it is quite a loose guess/hc. Im not super confident in some bjts like the time from the pilots to Possession but, again, its a gokd enough guess. Other canon bits of info I used: Lloyd and Nya (post Lloyd aging up) are the same age, Nya is 2 Yeats younger than Kai and that (heavily implied and just makes sense) the Ninja are legal adults by Seabound. The green bits relate to my Ressurrected Morro AU which is an alternate ending to Possession. Also in brackets next to Lloyd's name is the age he would be if he didn't get aged up by the tommorrows tea 💔 When I rewatch ninjago again (very soon hehe, I'm at s16 in my current watch) I'll be able to flesh it out better I'm also not sure what I'm supposed to do about Skybound?? Spoilers: because of how the whole season actually didn't happen so all that time was just...?? Yeah idk Ninjago playing with time is confusing like I hc that Jay still has scars/pain from skybound, even though it was all undone (just not the major damage to his eye - maybe some scarring or discolouration there but not how serious it would have been if he didn't use that last wish) Work on the heaps of schoolwork I'm kinda behind on while I have hours to myself, travelling 👎 work on intricately planning Ninjago hcs and AUs 👍 👍 I have a folder in my sketchbook full of pages and pages of notes, details and sticky notes I want to finish my old ones from my other sketchbook and put them here too
